Santa Fe's free alternative community newspaper for the flourishing of local live performing arts

About Live/Out Loud

L/OL, published by Future Forward LLC, is a free monthly publication for everyone curious about the burgeoning local live performance art scene—music, theater, dance and more.

We focus on reviews of performing artists, the back stories of how performances are made, and other items of interest to performance practitioners and audience members who want in-depth information about the actors, dancers and musicians who inspire and entertain them. The paper hopes to serve as a unifying agent among the various venues to spotlight their successes, amplify their accomplishments and share the excitement of a performing arts scene that is exploding with energy and creativity.

Live/Out Loud is printed and distributed by the Santa Fe New Mexican to an ever-growing list of key locations where both locals and tourists can easily access it. 10,000 copies will be distributed in Santa Fe and environs and a PDF of the digital version will be published online.

While L/OL's exclusive focus is live performance we also publish performance-themed poetry and book and film reviews about performance-themed works. Talent Pool is a first-person narrative by those who are participating in the performing arts in a significant way (accompanied by a picture of them swimming). Submissions are welcome, photos must be 1MB or over.

The publication began in 2016. The inaugural issue was underwritten with the generous support of the Max and Anna Levinson Foundation.
